Tournament Rules

 
2011 Tournament and Local Rules

Unless informed otherwise by ROCC staff, carts must stay on cart paths at all times. PLEASE REPAIR ALL BALL MARKS AND FILL DIVOTS (sand available on golf carts)

 

 

Attire
  • Soft spikes only
  • Men may wear shorts with an outseam of 17" or longer
  • Women may wear shorts with an outseam of 15" or longer
  • No collarless shirts
  • No jeans; no denim pants or shorts
  • No golf shoes allowed in the Main Dining Room
  • Locker rooms are open on tournament day; lockers will be provided for players' convenience

USGA Rules to Govern Play

  • Play will be from white tees for men and yellow tees for women, EXCEPT that players 70 years of age or older who play from the red tees may be subject to a handicap adjustment
  • Players may use more than 14 clubs
  • Players may change balls on the green
  • Lies may be improved by one club length (no closer to the hole), but the one club length may not be used to remove a ball from a hazard. Balls may not be improved from the rough to the fairway.

Indexes and Scoring

  • The maximum index allowed is 30 strokes for men and 36 stokes for women
  • Indexes greater than 18 strokes are subject to verification by a club pro or other official source
  • Record each player's gross score on the scorecard
  • ROCC golf staff will determine individual and team gross and net scores
  • Scorecard playoffs will be used to determine winners in the event of tie scores

Caddies

  • One caddy will be provided for each registered team
  • The cost of additional caddies, if requested, will be borne by the requesting team
  • Players may tip caddies

Holes in One

  • Prizes will be awarded for holes-in-one on each par 3 hole
  • Holes-in-one are subject to the verification of an independent witness, and other procedures may be required

  • - All teams are eligible for overall tournament team awards
    • Low Gross Score - Champion, Second, Third
    • Low Net Score - Champion, Second, Third
  • Teams representing Healthcare Providers also are eligible for separate awards - Memorial Hermann Cup
    • Low Gross Score Champion
    • Low Net Score Champion
  • Pro Player Champion
  • Course Contest Champions
    • Closest to Pin - Women, Men
    • Longest Drive - Women, Men
