How Can I Help?

Good Samaritan Foundation (GSF) is a fund raising and grant-making organization dedicated solely to Texas nursing. Its mission is to increase the quantity of nurses dedicated to clinical care and to improve the quality of nurse education and training.

Established in 1951 by a group of prominent Houstonians, the Foundation's governance today is comprised of a diverse group of leaders in Texas business, healthcare, and philanthropy.

GSF grant programs address several complex issues affecting the practice of nursing, including:

  • Workforce shortages
  • The skills gap between nursing education and practice
  • Limits to enrollment in nursing schools
  • A rapidly changing practice environment
  • Aging population and its special healthcare needs
